Dr Andy Ross

PHL Group, Group Medical Director

Dr Andy Ross graduated from the University of Manchester and began his medical career in the North of England, building broad clinical experience across community neuro-rehabilitation, general practice and community palliative care. These early roles shaped his patient-centred approach and grounded belief in delivering care that truly meets people where they are.

After moving to London to further develop his clinical expertise, Andy later returned to the Midlands, where he became Medical Lead for Dudley and Sandwell Urgent Treatment Centres. There, he was instrumental in strengthening clinical standards, developing teams and ensuring high-quality urgent care services for local communities.

Andy went on to become Medical Director at Malling Health, and following its integration, stepped into the role of Group Medical Director for PHL Group. He now serves as Executive Medical Director, on the Board of Directors and acts as Responsible Officer.

Throughout his career, Andy has embodied PHL Group’s core values. He is Team First, known for empowering clinicians and fostering collaborative, high-performing services. He Truly Cares, with a strong commitment to safe, compassionate care. And he champions Pioneering Innovation, driving service development and clinical governance across the organisation to ensure patients receive outstanding, forward-thinking healthcare.

Outside of work, Andy’s passions include travelling (as often as possible) and exploring new places through food, a hobby he admits is a near-constant pursuit. At home, he is kept firmly in charge by his two French bulldogs, Bella and Lola.
