PHL Group aim to offset carbon emissions and support local communities through carbon reduction projects. PHL’s carbon reduction plan embodies our values of accountability, respect, efficiency, teamwork, fun, and caring.
PHL are accountable for the impact we have on the environment, and we are committed to reducing it. Our approach is efficient, and we aim to reach net zero within the next 20 years. We are working collaboratively using teamwork to achieve our environmental goals and will incorporate fun and innovative ways to engage and support staff in this mission. We hope that through this plan, we can demonstrate our respect and care for our patients, our colleagues, the environment, and the future generations who will inherit it.
“Playing our role in supporting the global movement towards removing carbon dioxide and other
greenhouse gases from the atmosphere is a number one priority for PHL Group. No longer can we ignore the catastrophic impact climate change is having on our planet and it is up to everyone of us to take urgent action.”

IHPN Net Zero Pledge
PHL Group have made a pledge with the Independent Healthcare Provider Network to reach Net Zero emissions by 2035.
So far over 40 organisations, who deliver care in over 1500 sites, have now signed up to the pledge, with many more expected to in the coming months.
As a sector which employs over 160,000 people and delivers care for millions of people every year, this commitment from independent healthcare providers builds on the NHS’ own target to achieve net zero by 2040.
